Mexican Journalist Felicidad Aveleyra to Anchor “Noticias Telemundo Mediodía”

MIAMI, FL –January 11- Noticias Telemundo announced today that Mexican journalist Felicidad Aveleyra will anchor “Noticias Telemundo Mediodía,” a new national newscast debuting on Monday, January 22 at 12:30 P.M. / 11:30 A.M. CT. Felicidad Aveleyra joined Telemundo in December 2015 as co-anchor of “Noticias Telemundo Fin de Semana,” helping to establish it as a leading weekend newscast in Spanish-language TV. Julio Vaqueiro will remain as anchor of the weekend newscast.

Telemundo recently announced a significant expansion of its news programming by introducing a combination of local and national weekday newscasts from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Expanding on its ongoing investments in news content, the company will launch local weekday newscasts at 12:00 P.M. / 11:00 A.M. CT across 10 Telemundo-owned stations, beginning Monday, January 22. The local newscasts will be followed by  “Noticias Telemundo Mediodía.”

Felicidad Aveleyra was a news anchor for “Noticias Univisión 34” in Los Angeles before joining Noticias Telemundo. She has an extensive career as a television host for programs such as “Fila Zero” on Televisa Guadalajara and “Los mejores músicos.com,” and she anchored the evening sports news for “Estadio Total” on Televisa Deportes Network. She has been awarded three Emmys and two Edward R. Murrow awards, among other accolades.
